ANOMALITH tips that actually change a run

No secret codes, no hacks. These are the decisions that separate a long run from a short one.

Most survival third-person shooter advice is either obvious or wrong. The list below is deliberately small: five habits, each one testable in your next run. If a tip does not change how you play, it does not belong here.

The five habits

  1. Ammo is the real health bar. The game limits ammunition. If a room can be crossed without clearing it, crossing it is usually the better trade.
  2. Extract earlier than feels right. The run only pays out when you return. A safe extraction with half the loot beats a full bag that never leaves the zone.
  3. Build one gun first. Concentrate attachments and artifacts on one weapon until it handles the encounters you keep losing to, then branch out.
  4. Read the Dive Reports. Enemy ecology and character context live in the reports and side missions. They are part of the information layer, not filler.
  5. Check the demo if you are unsure. A demo was listed on the Switch 2 page at launch. It is the cheapest way to test whether the shooting loop fits before buying.

How to practise

Pick one habit per session. If you are working on spacing, ignore the score entirely for three runs and judge yourself only on whether the space stayed open. Score follows attention; it rarely follows intent.

What not to do

  • Do not restart the moment a run looks bad. The recovery is where most of the learning happens.
  • Do not copy a recording frame by frame. Learn the rule behind the move, then apply it at your own speed.
  • Do not play past the point where mistakes stop feeling instructive.
